Jim Mendiola is a Los Angeles based writer/director. Mendiola's award-winning short film Pretty Vacant has screened in numerous film festivals, museums, and colleges in the U.S., Mexico and Europe. His one-hour movie Come and Take It Day was one of five narrative projects funded by ITVS as part of their "American Stories" initiative. With his producing partner Faith Radle, Mendiola created a one-hour documentary pilot about Latino indie rock bands for national cable network SíTV that launched a two season run of the series “Jammin”. For the past two years he has directed and co-produced 26 episodes of “The Chicas Project”, a reality/lifestyle show for Mun2, the bilingual youth cable channel owned by NBC/Universal. Mendiola is currently in production on a documentary for PBS, Making Viva Max.
